SEO
Let me put this as clearly as possible. A domain that forwards to an existing site does not provide any Page Ranking benefits to the forwarded domain. In fact the domain name that forwards to the existing website will not even be available in Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs). This is because when you do a forward you are informing Google, Yahoo, Bing, and other Search Engines that this site does not have any content but instead the site exists at the forwarded domain and that should be indexed. The only time when a fowarding domain assists in the Page Ranking of the forwarded domain is when you migrate a website to a new main domain as the Page Ranking will be associated with the new domain instead of starting off as a new website.
If you are looking to increase your Page Ranking within Search Engines the main factor you should focus on is writing unique and worthwhile content. Don’t get sucked into the whole keyword feeding frenzy. Yes you should include terms that are relevant to your content but only if they make sense in the context of your content. If you do buy multiple domain names do so only to secure those domains with the purpose of stopping competitors from buying and using them.

When it comes to Search Engine Optimization for your WordPress powered website or blog there are 2 main choices: All In One SEO Pack and Platinum SEO Pack. To help you make an informed decision on which to use I have compiled a comparison of the plugins’ features.

As can be seen the two plugins contain the same base SEO functionality with the Platinum SEO Pack having a few additional options that are mainly used by advanced SEO optimizers.
Plugin Usability
The main configuration screen of the two plugins are almost identical with the exception of a few varying options and that the All In One SEO Pack screen displays ads front and center to donate and for buying WordPress themes as can be seen in the below screen shot.

The Platinum SEO Pack Plugin however displays the normal links navigation across the top that can be found in most WordPress plugins. The page / post level editors for the two plugins however don’t contain any real differences beyond the additional META tag support options that is available only in Platinum SEO Pack.
Which SEO Plugin should you use?
Simply put in my opinion the best SEO Plugin you can have at the moment is Platinum SEO Pack. This Plugin is easy to use contains all the SEO features your site will require and also doesn’t contain annoying advertisements like the All In One SEO Pack plugin. If you are currently using the All In One SEO Pack Plugin don’t worry switching is easy as the Platinum SEO Pack is able to import your settings from the All In One SEO Pack.

SEO
The Description Meta Tag exists to provide an overview or summary of what you will find on the current page of your web site. This element serves multiple purposes in that it can effect your Search Engine Page Ranking and that if present it is also displayed in Search Results to provide search users with a brief summary of what can be found on the web pages listed. This summary displayed can greatly increase your click-through rate of your web-page leading to more traffic, more links, and a higher page ranking.
As always when it comes to SEO practices it is important to keep in mind that any and all content needs to be written or created for the end user and not targeted at Search Engines. This means that yes you will want to have keywords in your description but you do not want to have your description tag simply be a list of keywords. Below are some basic guidelines for creating Search Engine Optimized Description tags that are user friendly.
- Keep the description short. The typical guideline is to keep the description text to 1-2 sentences or up to 160 characters, however use as much space as needed to provide the overview of what is to be found on your site.
- While writing the text try to include keywords that are found within the content of the page or that will be used by searchers to find your page.
- Don’t simply copy and paste text from your existing page content. Use this area to intrigue potential viewers and to provide additional slightly different content.
